Fishing River WWTP Phase II
The existing Fishing River WWTP was a 1.0 mgd extended aeration, factory prefabricated treatment plant with a two-stage polishing pond that discharge treatment effluent to the Fishing River. The treatment plant was constructed around 1975 and rehabilitated in 2003. The average daily flow was approaching the design average daily flow to the plant.

Blue River Bio-Solids Facility Project
The existing Blue River WWTP is undergoing a major renovation and technology upgrade. On an average day, the
facility treats close to 75 million gallons of wastewater. KC Water has elected to upgrade the facility using state
of the art technology inclusive of the use of a Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP). This process will increase the
plants process efficiency, account for increased sustainability, and create a Class A Biosolids Product that can be
used to the benefit for farms and gardens.

MLK Park: improvements and modifications
The City of Kansas City, Missouri Department of Parks and Recreation requested conceptual design for the outdoor classroom and play area that incorporates learning, play, and interaction. The project focus was on ensuring all elements of the playground would be inclusive to children of all abilities. An inclusive playground takes away the barriers to exclusion, both physical and social, providing a "sensory rich" experience for all. Since 1978, the Martin Luther King Jr Square Park has been an underdeveloped memorial to a great man that’s main use was by politicians as an illustration of the inequities of government spending on the East side of Troost. In 2020, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews decided to donate a “destination park” to the city’s children and selected this location to develop and build an inclusive playground that would attract children from all over Kansas City.
